Frequently asked questions

The questions players ask most about BLOCK FORGE, answered directly. For the full rules and scoring details, see the How to Play guide.

Is BLOCK FORGE free, and are there in-app purchases?

The game is completely free and contains no purchases of any kind. The service is supported by advertising, which is what keeps every difficulty, trophy, and feature available to everyone at no cost.

Do I need to create an account or sign in?

No. BLOCK FORGE never asks for a name, email address, or password. You open the page and play. Progress is tied to your browser rather than to an identity.

How is my progress saved, and can I move it to another device?

Your score, level, board state, and trophies are stored per difficulty in your browser's local storage on your own device. Because nothing is stored on a server, progress cannot follow you to a different device or browser profile, and clearing site data will erase it.

How do I unlock the Normal and Hard difficulties?

Reach Level 5 on Easy to unlock Normal, and Level 10 on Normal to unlock Hard. The menu shows how far along you are, and each difficulty remembers its own saved run independently.

What do the trophies mean and can I lose one?

Each difficulty awards a trophy at its target level: Level 5 on Easy, Level 10 on Normal and Hard, and the Hard trophy completes all three at once. A trophy is removed only if you restart that difficulty from the beginning, since the save behind it no longer meets the requirement.

How does combo scoring actually work?

Every consecutive placement that clears at least one line adds 20% to your score multiplier, so the second clear in a streak pays 1.2 times normal, the third 1.4 times, and so on. A placement that clears nothing resets the streak to zero.

What are the frozen cells on the board?

Those are ice obstacles. They descend over time at a speed set by your difficulty and level, and they block placement like any filled cell. Clearing lines next to ice damages it, so aggressive play near the ice keeps the board open.

Why did a new row of blocks appear at the bottom?

Leveling up on Easy or Normal pushes one obstacle row onto the board, and Hard adds obstacle rows periodically on its own. It is intentional pressure: the game gets tighter as you get better.

Can I play offline or install BLOCK FORGE as an app?

You can install it: use your browser's install or add-to-home-screen option and the game opens full-screen like a native app, sharing the same save. Loading the game and its services requires an internet connection.
